|Title||:||Dama Dam Mast Qalandar (Ecstatic Qalandar mix)- Global Mystic|
|Description||:|| With every breath ecstatic Qalandar! |
Dama Dam Mast Qalandar is a spiritual song. The song or kalaam was written in Punjabi by Sufi Saint Baba Bulleh Shah many years ago in honour of the most revered Sufi Saint of Sindh, Shahbaz Qalandar of Sehwan Sharif, near Larkana, Pakistan.
Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, also known as Jhule Laal (1177–1274) (Sindhi: لال شھباز قلندر), was a Sayed Sufi saint, philosopher, poet, and qalandar. Born Syed Hussain Shah, he belonged to the Suhrawardiyya order of Sufis.
He preached religious tolerance among Muslims and Hindus. His mysticism attracted people from all religions. He was called Lal (red) after his usual red attire, Shahbaz due to his noble and divine spirit, and Qalandar for his Sufi affiliation . Thousands of pilgrims visit his shrine in Sehwan every year, especially at the occasion of his Urs.
Qalandars (Arabic: قلندر, Hindi: क़लन्दर) are wandering ascetic Sufi dervishes who may or may not be connected to a specific tariqat. They are most prevalent in Central Asia, India and Pakistan, in the latter "qalandar" is also used as a title. Some famous Qalandars include Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and Bu Ali Shah Qalandar.
Qalander is a title given to a saint who is at a very high level of spirituality. Qalanders are considered chosen saints of God Almighty. They are different from other saints and they have a very strong feelings of love in them. Qalandars, amongst the saints, are those persons who may enjoy freedom from the ties and bounds of Time and Space.
I made this track for my own ecstatic trance journeys. But in light of the sad passing of one of our great Fusion Music Sonic Shamans, Cheb I Sabbah, I was prompted to share it in all its imperfection, with gratitude for his musical inspirations.
In the spirit of Ecstatic Union, I offer this remix.
